What do the words Dark, Wood and High all have in common? Well if you an old school Warhammer player they would mean you would be playing Elf's.
Whats all that got to do with todays post well if your are a fan of Elf's this months Your Model Box has something for you as this months theme is Elven.
Let take a look inside.
First out of the box we have one of five Elf Assassin miniature from Alternative Armies.
This one piece metal miniature has a old school look with it pose looking like its plotting to get its next victim.
The next miniature is a really lovely sculpt from Lucid Eye Productions of an Elf Adventurer.
This miniature has nice details and would be perfect for RPG games and has some interesting objects like the outstretched orb that could be a good excuse to try some OSL paint schemes.
In the box we also get a miniature from Bad Squiddo Games in the form of Erin a Female Archer.
This has a nice open pose with nice details such as the feather on top of the hood.
As we all know an Elf with a bow is a very deadly combination.
The last miniature in this months box is the Model Box Exclusive which is a High Elf Lord.
This miniature is a great sculpt which has that classic look and feel of an old school High Elf/Tolkien style with crisp details and the perfect regal pose.
In this months box we also get some paints from Instar Paints which from my experience flow wonderfully when painting
Last but not least we get this months sweet treat as well as the flyer for this months box with all the information about the companies and products features.
We also find out next months theme Flesh.
So my thoughts.
This months box is full of Elf goodness with lots of great examples from differnt companies.
Alternative Armies had a classic style of miniature with it menacing pose where Lucid Eye Productions had a RPG style which I can see being a joy to paint and experiment with OLS.
It 's also nice to see another miniature from Bad Squiddo Games with their female Archer which will be a very useful addition to you RPG games or Skirmish warband and again has some nice details which will be a good challenge for painters out there.
The Model Box exclusive miniature this month really hit the mark with its great pose and combination of classic Elven styles.
This will fit perfectly in any High Elf army as a commander overseeing a battle.
Not forgetting we also got some great paints from Insta Paints which I have found to be really nice to use and I look forward to using these colours in my next project.
