All Aboard The Unexpected Hobby Show

As I was walking down to the shops I noticed a sign about a hobby train fair. A little bit differnt from little soldiers but thought I would take a look inside.

Entering the hall it was full of train dioramas and bits and pieces to buy.

This first diorama was features in rail way magazines.

Next along was this really cool guitar case that had a full train diorama inside. Micheal the guy who made it said it took a year to make and uses some 3d printed elements but its so tiny and amazing how all the electronics are hidden in the case.

It even had moving gates to open and shut the rail crossing.

This set up was going in the skip and was rescued and added to over the last couple of years
the insurance on this would shock you.

Next up was a cool looking creek which took about 3 years to build.

Well that was an unexpected little detour and was good chance to chat to a few of the exhibitors about their hobby and what they use for terrain etc. Its definitely a labour of love and I don't think I can complain ever about working in 28mm any more as some of the details on these dioramas and miniatures was so tiny.

It goes to show keep your eye out locally as you never know what hobby related events are going on.
