Today I am reviewing Februarys edition of Your Model Box and the theme this month is Sci Fantasy.
In this box I received 5 miniatures with one being a commander figure. There is also a sprue thats got extra weapons which by the looks of things you can easily swap out for each Ranger.
The plastic sort of reminds me of the same used in plastic action figures and looking at the EM4 Website the miniatures are used in a game called Combat Zone.
Next up we have some paints from Insta Paints and the colours are Cement Grey and Brush Pink.
Your Model Box has another branded brush from Rosemary and Co this month and this time this is a size 1 synthetic brush.
As readers of the blog know I am a fan of Rosemary and Co as very good price wise and if you look after them last a long time.
As we are in Sci Fantasy theme we come to one of the miniatures in the box and we have a metal miniature from Hasslefree Miniatures.
The miniature in question is Iona Starkiller a powerful psychic Space Elf.
As this is a Hasslefree Miniature you know it will have character and this would be perfect in a Space set RPG or even as a leader or psyker in a Space Elf army in the grim dark future...
So you have a Space Elf of course the most logical miniature to have next is a Dwarf right.
Your Model Box for the second month in a row have made a custom miniature moving away from their Rox mascot for now.
This fantastic miniature by Your Model Box is called Brumrik Oresson.
Brumrik Oresson is a master engineer and knows his way around a asteroid mine and again this miniature would be great in an RPG or in a Sci Fantasy army.
The sculpt is really crisp with great details on the cloths and the robotic eye. Also you can miss that axe.
The sweet treat this month are some Parma Violets....Remember them?
Lastly we have the flyer with all the companies featured in this months information and more about the products in the box.
We also find out next months theme is Future War.
So my thoughts.
The box this month contained classic Sci Fanatsy style figures with the Space Rangers from EM4 miniatures which after visiting their web site which I recommend (https://em4miniatures.com/) as they have some really inexpensive miniatures for Fantasy and Sci Fantasy alike.
Having a Dwarf and Space Elf also is a classic as you all maybe aware they don't seem to get on..
The Hasslefree Miniature Iona Starliller is what you would expect a metal miniature with character and works perfect for this theme.
If you wanted to I am sure with the right paint scheme you could even use this in a Fantasy army.
I really do like Brumril Oresson and think the new sculpts from Your Model Box in the past two boxes have been fantastic.
(check out the Bushido theme box here)
As most of you are aware regular visitors to blog know I play Dwarfs so when I saw this I had a big grin on my face.
This month it was also a surprise to see another brush and happy to see its another Rosemary and Co again.
The two Insta Paints featured this month I will find personally useful as the Cement Grey will be perfect for stone and bases were as the Blush Pink will do well for some Nurgle miniatures I have planned so that has worked out very well.
So another interesting box this month with some useful tools and fun miniatures for this theme with the addition of finding a new company to investigate in EM4 Miniatures.
